Russ Johnsen joined Sirific Wireless in 2004 and now serves as CEO and Chairman. Mr. Johnsen brings more than thirty years of experience in the semiconductor industry to Sirific. Prior to joining Sirific, Mr. Johnsen managed the cellular wireless and high-speed broadband wireline communications business at AnalogDevices, where he held the titles Vice President and Genereal Manager of the Communications Products Division, as well as Vice President of Corporate Business Development. Before Analog Devices, he was the General Manager of the Wide Area Networks Division for National Semiconductor and co-founded its wireless communications and PLL synthesizer product lines. Mr. Johnsen is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and serves on the board of directors of Mercury Computer Systems, as well as other private and non-profit boards.
Dr. Tajinder Manku is the founder of Sirific Wireless and serves as CTO and Director, responsible for technology development and assessment. Prior to creating Sirific, Dr. Manku served as an associate professor of electrical engineering at the University of Waterloo, where he led the RF Technology Group. Dr. Manku has been an RFIC consultant for a number of companies including Lucent, Motorola, Nortel, PMC-Sierra, TSMC, and Mitel. In the 1990's, Dr. Manku helped pioneer RF CMOS design and his research earned him the prestigious Premier's Research Excellence Award and the backing of Communications and Information Technology Ontario. He holds a B.S. in Solid State Physics and a Ph.D from the University of Waterloo.
Dr. Abdellatif Bellaouar joined Sirific Wireless in 2004 and serves as Vice President of Advanced Architectures. Dr. Bellaouar brings more than 20 years of research and development experience in circuit design to Sirific. Prior to joining Sirific, Dr. Bellaouar served as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Texas Instruments where he was the technical lead for numerous products within the Wireless Terminal Business Unit. Dr. Bellaouar also served as an associate professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He holds a Masters and Doctorate in Microelectronics from the University of Paul-Sabatier in Toulouse, France, and is a senior member of the IEEE.
Simon Hughes joined Sirific Wireless in 2006 and serves as Vice President of Systems Engineering and Verification Test. He brings more than 15 years experience in the cellular and semiconductor industries to his position and is responsible RF system design, integration and engineering verification. Prior to joining Sirific, Mr. Hughes held various leadership and management positions with RF Micro Devices, Kyocera Wireless, Skyworks Solutions and Nokia Mobile Phones. He holds a B.Eng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Honours from the University of Bradford, UK.
Kiran Konanur leads efforts in technical marketing, product management and sales, contributing extensive knowledge of the RF semiconductor, wireless and cellular handset markets. Prior to joining Sirific in 2001, he held engineering and management positions at Microsoft and Alcatel. Mr. Konanur holds an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and brings a unique combination of passion, insight and leadership to Sirific and the wireless industry.
Bryan Bell joined Sirific Wireless in 2003 and serves as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Bell brings over 20 years experience in integrated circuits and consumer products to Sirific. Prior to joining Sirific, Mr. Bell multiple positions at Texas Instruments and was responsible for DSL/router engineering, 1394/Firewire mixed-signal integrated circuit products and the Extensa brand notebook computer business. Mr. Bell also served as Vice President and General Manager of Acer Advanced Labs, Inc.
Kent MacFarlane joined Sirific Wireless in 2003 and serves as Vice President of Finance. Mr. McFarlane brings more than12 years of experience in public accounting in the technology and manufacturing industries. Prior to joining Sirific, Mr. MacFarlane held various management positions with start-up technology companies and KPMG’s Financial Advisory Group, where he provided valuation, fraud investigation, financing, and assurance services to public and private companies. He holds a BA in Mathematics with Accountancy Option from the University of Waterloo, as well as his Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator designations.
Dr. Sherif Embabi joined Sirific Wireless in 2004 and serves as Vice President of IC Engineering. Dr. Embabi brings more than 20 years of research and development in mixed signal and RF circuit design to Sirific. Prior to joining Sirific, Dr. Embabi was a Senior Member of the Technical Staff and served as a Section Manager in the RF Design branch of Texas Instruments. Dr. Embabi is a senior member of the IEEE, and was an Associate Editor for the organizations “Transactions on Circuits and Systems Part II: Analog and Digital Signal Processing”. He has also served as an associate professor at Texas A&M University as a member of the mixed signal group. Dr. Embabi holds a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. |
